Florida’s third largest metropolitan area is latest market to join the ever-growing nationwide network rollout

SAN DIEGO – October 13, 2016 – Ingenu Inc., the pioneer in delivering connectivity exclusively to machines, today announced the availability of its Machine Network™ in Tampa Bay, Florida. The purpose-built Internet of Things (IoT) network serves a population of nearly 3 million and provides connectivity across the state’s third largest metropolitan area. The Machine Network will serve a diverse set of IoT applications, including environmental monitoring, logistics and transportation, as well as smart city and smart grid.

Ingenu’s patented RPMA® (Random Phase Multiple Access) communication technology powers the Machine Network, which provides robust, reliable connectivity across a variety of operating environments. With just 16 RPMA access points, the Tampa Bay network serves over 2,500 square miles of area, with each access point covering an average of 159 square miles, thus utilizing considerably less infrastructure than other low-power, wide-area or cellular options.

“Tampa is the gateway to Florida’s High Tech Corridor, which provides the resources and innovation to create a variety of useful IoT applications,” said Tom Gregor, Ingenu’s president and general manager, Machine Network. “There are many opportunities for IoT solutions in the Tampa region and Ingenu’s Machine Network will power the development and connectivity of these solutions.”

Ingenu’s Machine Network build-out is now underway across the United States, and is targeted to serve 30 major metropolitan areas by the end of 2016.  The Machine Network currently provides more than 100,000 square miles of wireless coverage for a host of IoT applications.  About RPMA

Utilizing globally available spectrum, Ingenu’s RPMA® (Random Phase Multiple Access) technology is purpose-built for M2M/IoT connectivity, offering unparalleled range, coverage and capacity with extremely low power requirements and longer-lasting battery life. It uniquely enables devices to connect more efficiently and cost-effectively in both the uplink and downlink. Requiring fewer towers to provide coverage to large areas (1:10 to 1:30 radio towers needed for RPMA vs. cellular), RPMA is rapidly becoming a global standard for IoT communication.
